On a recent trip to Wekiwa Springs State Park, the heat of Florida's blossoming springtime drove me to a shaded hike around Sand Lake. Among the oaks and pines bordering the lake's edge are incredible views of water reflecting the sky's movement. Meanwhile, nestled in the shade of the leafy foliage are strategically placed picnic benches inviting passersby to enjoy a moment of tranquility and respite. The dappled light and shadows on a nearby fallen tree and the multitude of greens in the surrounding flora stopped me in my tracks and compelled me to capture its beauty.
