This abstracted floral marks my first exploration into abstract figures and expressionism. Set in a bed of leafy brush strokes against a cool background, this Camellia expresses humility to its viewer. The soft pink buds against the warm green leaves remind the viewer of life's incompleteness, while the dark desaturated greens of dead leaves suggest that life's transience is punctuated by moments of austere beauty for us to experience.
